From Sketchto Scale —in detail.
Every project at Rlzed follows a structured 7-phase process built to eliminate guesswork, protect your IP, and deliver a market-ready product on time. Here's exactly what we do — and what you receive at every step.
Phase One
Discovery
& Planning
Initial needs interview: seller background, sales channels (Amazon / Shopify / Retail), target market, and budget range
Initial feasibility assessment: technical complexity, production viability, and preliminary lead time estimate
Product direction confirmation: category, core functions, price positioning, and competitor references
Target market research: Amazon / Shopify BSR data analysis, market sizing and category volume evaluation
In-depth competitive analysis: TOP 20 competitors reviewed across price bands, ratings, negative reviews, and differentiation opportunities
User pain point synthesis: core user needs distilled from competitor reviews and consumer research
Confirm 1–3 core product categories and sub-segments; issue a category selection recommendation report
Sign service agreement (NDA + service contract); confirm payment schedule and project milestones
Project is scoped, signed, and market-validated — ready to move into concept.
Phase Two
Concept
& Definition
Feature list development: three-tier classification — core features / value-adds / optional features
Concept sketches / wireframes: 2–3 concept directions with use-case scenario illustrations
Concept review with client: jointly select primary direction and backup option; issue selection confirmation
Product Requirements Document (PRD) v1.0: dimensions, materials, color options, and packaging format
Deep technical feasibility: structural complexity, tooling requirements, and special processes (injection / stamping / surface treatment)
Cost estimation (BOM draft): preliminary materials, tooling, and production cost breakdown
Physical competitor teardown (where applicable): structure, materials, and process benchmarking report
Product concept is locked, costed, and technically validated — design work can begin.
Phase Three
Industrial Design
& Engineering
CMF direction (Color / Material / Finish): 3 colorway proposals with material and finish sample boards
2D rendering: front / side / perspective product renders including lifestyle scene composites
3D exterior modeling: product appearance 3D files in STP / STEP format
Structural disassembly design: part breakdown, assembly method, and tolerance fit design
DFM (Design for Manufacturability) analysis: confirm structural manufacturability with factory partners
Full 3D structural engineering package: complete CAD files (STP + 2D drawings PDF)
Packaging structural design: outer box dimensions, inner cushioning, FBA size compliance
Packaging graphic design: brand dieline with barcode zone, product imagery, and selling-point copy
Design review: client final sign-off on 3D models and packaging; issue formal design freeze confirmation
Design is frozen and signed off. Full engineering package ready for prototype fabrication.
Phase Four
Prototyping
& Validation
CNC / 3D print mock-up fabrication: appearance validation samples (1–3 units) for form and ergonomics verification
Mock-up review with client: confirm appearance, dimensions, and feel in-person; output revision list
Factory T0 sampling: engage matched supplier and issue drawing package (DFM-approved)
T0 sample review: systematic inspection of appearance, function, and assembly; issue SCAR problem list
DFM (Design for Manufacturability) analysis: confirm structural manufacturability with factory partners
T1 / T2 iteration: resolve T0 issues through successive factory rounds until Golden Sample standard is met
Product functional testing: verify all core functions against design requirements per test protocol
Certification identification: confirm applicable standards (CE / FCC / RoHS / UL / ASTM) by target market
Testing lab coordination: assist in engaging third-party labs (SGS / Intertek / TÜV) and track test progress
Golden Sample final sign-off: client signs sample confirmation, formally unlocking mass production authorization
Golden Sample approved, certifications in progress. Mass production is formally authorized.
Phase Five
Supply Chain
& Mass Production
Supplier shortlisting: 5–10 candidate factories filtered by category, production capacity, and certification credentials
RFQ process: standard quotation requests sent to candidate factories (with drawings, specs, and quantity tiers)
Factory audit (on-site / video): assess production capacity, quality management systems, and compliance
Supplier selection and contract signing: price negotiation, payment terms, and lead time confirmation
Pre-production meeting: confirm process routing, BOM, and quality inspection standards with factory
Production progress tracking: weekly reports syncing key milestones (material cutting / assembly / packaging)
Inline inspection (at 20–50% production completion): on-site random sampling during active production
Pre-shipment inspection (PSI): full random sampling to AQL 2.5 standard before goods leave the factory
Packaging and labeling verification: FBA labels, carton markings, and barcodes compliant with Amazon inbound requirements
Material and process optimization: post-production cost reduction recommendations (target: 5–15% savings)
Mass production completed and passed PSI. Goods are packed, labeled, and ready for shipment.
Phase Six
Logistics
& Delivery
Logistics plan comparison: sea / air / express quote analysis with timeline and cost recommendations
Amazon FBA inbound preparation: Shipment Plan creation, FNSKU label printing, and inbound appointment scheduling
Third-party / own warehouse delivery: coordinate 3PL inbound receiving and put-away completion
Project delivery summary report: timeline recap, total cost summary, QC results, and next restocking recommendations
Product is live in your warehouse or Amazon FBA. Full project summary delivered.
Phase Seven
Brand Support
& Optimization
Sales data review (60-day post-launch): conversion rate, return rate, and negative review analysis
Product iteration plan: V2.0 improvement recommendations based on real-world market feedback
Restocking plan assistance: forecast reorder quantity based on sales velocity and plan next production cycle
Supplier relationship management: annual supplier scorecard and price renegotiation to maintain supply chain stability
Your product is selling, your brand is built, and your supply chain runs itself. Onwards to V2.
